| Long description: | Working with Blue Arrow Managed Services at Argos will demand you to be at your best everyday. It’s a fast paced environment and will require you to work accurately and in an organised fashion.
Working with Blue Arrow Managed Services at Argos is different to working for other agencies who might just give you the address of where you’re working and let you get on with it. At Blue Arrow we are on site throughout the day so we're on hand to help you out with any queries or concerns. Blue Arrow Service Consultants spend a lot of their time on the warehouse floor ensuring that all our workers are happy and productive.
When you first start work with Blue Arrow at Argos you will probably start on the Main Pick Department, this is where items are picked to be despatched to stores. You will pick the orders for the stores using a ‘Voice Picking’ unit which tells you what, where and how many items must be picked. Working on Main Pick involves a lot of walking and lifting so if you’re not fit when you start working with us, if you stick at it, you soon will be! Whilst working on Main Pick is physically demanding we do let you have breaks. You have one 15 minute break 2 hours into your shift which is paid and then a 30 minute lunch break which is unpaid.
You will be paid weekly by Blue Arrow, the basic pay is £6.25 per hour for day shift and £6.75 per hour for afternoon shift. If you hit the targets set by Argos you can earn up to £7.60 per hour. The Blue Arrow team on site will do everything they can to help you hit your targets. Everyday the Blue Arrow Service consultants will provide you feedback as to how you have performed against the targets for the previous day so you always know how you’re doing.
If you prove yourself to be reliable and consistently good on the Main Pick department you may be offered the chance of training on one of the other departments. Argos often train our employees to work on the Stock Moves department which means you would be trained to operate a Reach Truck.
Periodically Argos will look to recruit our best performing associates on to a permanent Argos contract, in order to do this you will have to prove yourself to be reliable with a great work ethic. |
